Animal Care Centers of NYC meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
ACC's mission is to end animal homelessness in NYC.
Year, State Incorporated:
1994, NY
Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) is one of the largest animal welfare organizations in the country, taking in approximately 20,000 animals each year. ACC has three full-service Animal Care Centers located in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island, as well as two Resource Centers located in the Bronx and Queens. Whether arriving at our Care Centers due to homelessness, family crisis or abuse, we do not turn away any animal in need. ACC is a great place to find a wonderful cat, dog, rabbit or guinea pig to join your loving family. Open seven days a week, we can help you find the perfect pet for your home. If you are not able to visit our Care Centers, you may also find a pet from ACC at one of our off-site adoption events. For your convenience, you can also find a pet online through our Adoption Search where you may view pictures of the animals we have available for adoption on any given day. Additionally, ACC partners with over 300 animal welfare and veterinary groups in the community through our New Hope Program as an alternative outlet for animal adoptions.
In addition, ACC also seeks to end animal homelessness by seeking out root causes of animal surrender. We offer surrender prevention assistance to pet owners who need resources to help care for their pets, including but not limited to pet food, basic wellness services like vaccines, microchips and vouchers to assist with medical care. ACC conducts regular Community Pet clinics in areas throughout NYC that are facing a lack of these resources.
