The Virginia War Memorial Foundation (VWMF) reports that it supports the Virginia War Memorial, the Commonwealth of Virginia’s monument, museum, and educational center dedicated to Virginians who served to defend the United States from World War II through today. Through the public-private partnership, the organizations work together to preserve, interpret, and share the firsthand experiences of those who served and of their families on the home front. The VWMF provides hands-on programs for children, educational resources for schools and homeschool, professional development for teachers, lectures and seminars for adults, collections and archives for researchers, arts programs for veterans, patriotic ceremonies for the community, historical exhibits, arts events, documentary films, and oral histories. In 2024, the organization reports that it had more than 52,000 on-site visitors, reached another 7,200 through community outreach programs, and facilitated 102 educational programs for all learners.
