United Through Reading (UTR) reports that it strengthens military families’ emotional bonds, literacy, and well-being through the act of reading together and provides literacy development tools to military families with their unique educational challenges. The organization offers Be Drill Ready kits for deployed National Guard families. UTR provides a story time recording app that allows service members to record them reading books. The reading app also allows for virtual story time in preschools and classrooms globally.
