United Help Ukraine does not meet the following 3 Standards for Charity Accountability:
Standard 4 (Compensated Board Members)
Not more than one or 10% (whichever is greater) directly or indirectly compensated person(s) serving as voting member(s) of the board. Compensated members shall not serve as the board's chair or treasurer.
UHU does not meet this Standard because:
- Two members out of the seven member board of directors (29%) are directly compensated as employees of the organization.
- The paid Chief Executive Officer also serves as the chair of the board of directors.
- The chair of the board is directly compensated.
Standard 6 (Board Policy on Effectiveness)
Have a board policy of assessing, no less than every two years, the organization's performance and effectiveness and of determining future actions required to achieve its mission.
UHU does not meet this Standard because:
- The board of directors does not have a written policy stating that, at least every two years, an appraisal be done assessing the organization’s performance and effectiveness and determining future actions required to achieve its mission.
Standard 7 (Board Approval of Written Report on Effectiveness)
Submit to the organization's governing body, for its approval, a written report that outlines the results of the aforementioned performance and effectiveness assessment and recommendations for future actions.
UHU does not meet this Standard because:
- The organization has not completed an effectiveness assessment in the last two years.

United Help Ukraine (UHU) reports that it works to provide support to the Ukrainian people. The organization's main programs include humanitarian welfare, medical aid, support to those that defend the nation, and promote awareness. Humanitarian support includes offering resources and basic necessities, as well as means of rescue and evacuation to alleviate the hardships faced by these communities. The medical aid program supports healthcare infrastructure, including hospital and ambulance equipment and supplies, training, as well as funding for the treatment and rehabilitation of the wounded. The program also offers resources for mental wellness support for families and children affected by the war. In addition, the defender's aid program focuses on preserving the safety, physical health, and overall well-being of service members with the provision of protective gear, first-aid tactical medical supplies and training, communications and safety technology equipment, and clothing items.
