Redeem International reports that it works to protect Uganda’s widows and orphans from the devastation of land theft and deploys teams of Ugandan professionals to intervene on their behalf. The organization states that each of these intervention teams consists of twelve justice professionals deployed for six years. The goal of each of these teams is to create a deterrent impact that will prevent the abuse towards widows, orphans, and dependents who may otherwise lose their land. The intervention teams partner with local authorities in individual land theft cases in pursuit of prosecution, restoration, rehabilitation, and amplification. In 2024, Redeem International reports that its eight intervention teams restored 927 victims, rehabilitated 893 survivors, and prosecuted 213 criminals.
