Organizations shall have a board of directors that provides adequate oversight of the charity's operations and its staff. Indication of adequate oversight includes, but is not limited to, regularly scheduled appraisals of the CEO's performance, evidence of disbursement controls such as board approval of the budget, fund raising practices, establishment of a conflict of interest policy, and establishment of accounting procedures sufficient to safeguard charity finances.

The charity does not meet this Standard because:

While no conflict of interest concerns were raised in the process of assessment, the organization will need to develop an actual conflict of interest policy relevant to any considerations regarded by the group as salient, approved by the board, and that all current and future board members agree to sign.

The public donates their items to us.  We process through the items with staff and volunteers and then we sell new and gently used items to the public and take the profits and invest back into almost 30 local ministries.
