This program offers field trips to various enrichment activities within the community to enhance students' understanding of their options in life after graduating from high school. The pillars of this program are; college readiness, career exploration, cultural awareness, community service, mental health, and personal and social development.
Get READY Program
Adelante's career and college readiness program is dedicated to ensuring access and success in higher education for every Adelante student, many of whom are "first-generation to college." Beginning in grade 6, this program offers comprehensive support, including individual guidance, group workshops, and assistance for both students and their parents. Adelantes approach combines various elements, such as developing study skills, ACT preparation, providing shadowing opportunities, organizing college visits, offering resume-writing assistance, and delivering one-on-one college-application mentorship. This comprehensive approach has yielded significant success, with thirteen cohorts graduating thus far. Adelante Achievers are now attending or have graduated from universities and colleges, often with scholarships, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.
After School Virtual Tutoring
This program bridges students in need of academic support with tutors and academic resources. Achievers are paired with specialized tutors based on their subject requirements, covering areas like math, English, science, and various school projects. This support is an ongoing initiative, as the academic needs of students can vary with each new semester.
Summer Program and Adelante Clubs
This program offers a series of interest-specific, small-group learning communities for Adelante students to explore new skills and hobbies together. Achievers are provided a platform, led by professionals and experts from the community, where they can share their passions and interests alongside their Adelante peers. Achievers discover new information and grow from one another while establishing a tighter sense of community and connection in the Adelante Clubs.
Transformando Futuros
Parent and family engagement events. These monthly events are designed with the overarching goal of inspiring and empowering parents to actively engage in their children's education and maximize the available educational opportunities. Adelantes aim is to enhance parents' confidence in their involvement, nurture a sense of belonging, and facilitate increased communication between students and parents regarding post-graduation decisions.
