Stone of Hope Youth meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
Year-round mentoring to
underserved male youth ages 9-18 in West Valley City, UT.
Year, State Incorporated:
2019, UT
Stone of Hope Youth's (SOHY) Legacy Mentor Program is positively impacting the lives of low income, underserved male youth ages 9-18. Our core programs are weekly mentor sessions, financial literacy classes, field trips, service projects and summer camps. Our purpose is to encourage healthy outcomes such as self-confidence, connectedness, and healthy relationships with family, friends and community. We are committed to meeting our students emotional, physical and social needs through physical activities each week, breakout sessions and discussions covering topics such as conflict resolution, right decision making, and living a life of integrity. The result of this character focus is that our youth are more likely to avoid gangs, to engage in positive behaviors, and to be productive contributors to society. SOHYs impact strategy is centered around providing weekly and consistent, relationship-based mentoring to underserved youth in a structured, supportive environment. Our strategy is grounded in research showing that sustained, meaningful adult relationships are among the most powerful protective factors in a young person's life.
