Year, State Incorporated:
2019, CO
Hope House Northern Colorado is the first affiliate of Hope House Colorado in Arvada, who have served over 700 teen moms in its 19-year history. Hope House Northern Colorado received it's non-profit status in April 2020 and was formed because parenting teen moms are one of the most vulnerable populations in our community. * 67% of teen moms nationally live below the Federal poverty line. * Less that 50% will graduate from high school. * Fewer than 2% will earn a college degree. Our goal is to help break the cycle of poverty for two generations; teen moms and their children. Nearly 2,100 babies were born to teen moms in Colorado in 2021 with 250 in northern Colorado (Larimer and Weld counties). Hope House serves a vital need as we have a goal of serving 25 teen moms in northern Colorado this year. Since our beginning in April 2020, Hope House Northern Colorado has served 27 teen moms to date. Within our first 2 years, we have served teen moms with direct assistance, counseling, legal assistance and educational opportunities. * Direct assistance includes diapers and wipes, formula, food and gas cards as well as, rent and utility assistance. Without basic necessities, teen moms often find it difficult to focus on goals related to self-sufficiency. *Certified Counseling * Parenting Classes * Financial Literacy program (projected Fall 2022) * Personal Growth program (Pairin) that can be used and measure, map and develop individual skills all areas of programming * Healthy Relationship program *High School Equivalency (GED, HISET) program *Legal assistance (partnership with Family Law Attorney) *Certification, Community College, and University application assistance *Provides access to getting Human Services assistance
