60+ Ride meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
"To offer older adults the opportunity to maintain their physical, emotional, and mental health while living independently."
Year, State Incorporated:
2006, CO
Also Known As:
Senior Resource Services
60+ Ride is
a 501(c)(3) which provides transportation to Weld County residents 60 and older
free of charge. Demand is dictating that it expands both the number of clients
its program serves and the geographical area it reaches to meet the needs of
the exploding older adult demographic. It currently has over 700 registered
clients and served 270 clients with nearly 9000 rides in 2019. Its volunteer
drivers and staffed Greeley-Evans minivan transport Weld County residents to
medical appointments, grocery stores, financial and government institutions,
social events, houses of worship, and personal grooming appointments. Not only
do its services directly increase the aging populations ability to maintain
their health and independence through consistent availability of medical care,
but these same services reduce re-hospitalization, offer a way to increase
nutrition quality through fresh foods, and decrease social isolation and the
resulting depression. 60+ Ride received a national award for volunteer-based
transportation agencies from the Beverly Foundation as well as the Colorado
Association of Transit Agencies Small Transit System of the Year in 2013.
For the year ended December 31, 2024, 60+ Ride's program expenses were:
