Harmony Foundation Inc. meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
"to provide the foundation for sustained recovery from the diseases of alcohol and drug addiction."
Year, State Incorporated:
1969, CO
Harmony's primary addiction treatment tracks are its men's, women's, and young adults programs. These gender-separate programs allow individuals to receive treatment that is tailored to their needs within a healing environment.
Harmony offers a short-term residential evaluation and detox program. During their stay, patients receive medically monitored detox to break their physical dependence on substances in a safe setting while their need for further care is evaluated.
It also offers an Intensive Outpatient Program and long term aftercare.
Harmonys setting among the mountains plays a role in the recovery process. The renewal and groundedness that comes from this special place helps clients learn to rely on the strength that comes through surrender. Many connect with or renew their spirituality, learning to trust in a higher power. The raw energy of the Rockies releases the guilt and stress of addiction, providing an opportunity for healing.
As part of the residential experience, clients who are diagnosed with mental health issues—such as anxiety, depression, bi-polar, and other trauma-related responses—will meet with mental health and medical staff to address medication management. It works with clients to teach them healthy coping skills to help them manage their co-occurring issues.
Its concern for its clients does not end when they finish residential treatment. Its continuing care program—Harmony Aftercare—provides ongoing support services for those who have completed the residential program. Its continuing care program is not a 12-Step program. The two are complementary modes of support. While clients are encouraged to attend 12-Step meetings, Harmony Aftercare provides continuing care through trained therapists. This service is available at no cost to clients and their family members.
Harmony opened, in Feb. 2019, the Ft. Collins Recovery Center which exists to serve our alumni and the community with recovery focused workshops, meetings, Peer to Peer Recovery Coaching, activities, and much more.
