Pathfinder International meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
Stated Purpose:
"to catalyze women-led, locally grounded sustainable solutions that strengthen communities; enabling women to navigate change, shape their own futures, and lead healthy lives."
Year, State Incorporated:
1957, DC
Pathfinder reports that the organization works with local partners in different countries worldwide to bolster the health and climate resilience of communities and to increase the representation of women and girls in leadership roles. The organization states that it seeks to strengthen health systems through the improvement of service delivery, coordination, preparedness, and workforce capacity by donating supplies and equipment, and creating digital health technologies to provide greater access to information. Additionally, Pathfinder advocates for governments to integrate gender into their policies, to ensure that health and equity data are disaggregated by sex and age for further inclusion, and to change laws and practices that harm women and girls, and exacerbate gender inequalities. Furthermore, Pathfinder also works to elevate women’s and girls’ leadership and economic empowerment by expanding women's and girls' access to education, training, mentorship, financial services, and digital tools; supporting women-led enterprises; collaborating with the private sector to strengthen career pathways for women in the workforce; and engaging women and girls in community-implemented solutions for climate adaptation and related health problems.
