MedWish International meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
MedWish International (MedWish) reports that it recovers usable medical surplus from over 120 healthcare institutions in Northeast Ohio and redistributes the medical supplies through the organization's Domestic Giving program and International Aid program. The organization's volunteers and staff, including disabled individuals who are part of MedWish's Skill Building program, sort medical supplies, perform quality checks, and pack the donated supplies. MedWish also operates an Alternative Recycling program, which repurposes supplies that are not viable for the organization's humanitarian efforts and provides them to organizations serving animals, children, and local communities. In 2019, the organization states that it prepared 164 shipments, delivering 234,271 pounds of medical supplies to 44 countries and distributing 42,194 pounds of non-medical supplies. MedWish reports that it also partnered with 15 Skill Building programs, serving more than 150 individuals.
