Standard 3 (Frequency and Attendance of Board Meetings)
An organization shall have a minimum of three evenly spaced meetings per year of the full governing body with a majority in attendance, with face-to-face participation. A conference call of the full board can substitute for one of the three meetings of the governing body. For all meetings, alternative modes of participation are acceptable for those with physical disabilities.
NACOEJ does not meet this Standard because:

CHILD SPONSORSHIP
NACOEJ's sponsorship program helps Ethiopian-Israeli high school and college students cover costs associated with education so they can stay in school. These costs include school fees, rent, food, and transportation. Sponsorship of a college student for one academic year is $1,320 and can be paid by an individual, a family, or as part of a group. Sponsorship of a high school student for one year is $425 and can be paid by an individual. Sponsors will receive a biography and photo of each sponsored student and have the opportunity to visit with the student if traveling to Israel.
The North American Conference on Ethiopian Jewry (NACOEJ) reports that it works with a sister organization to help malnourished Ethiopian-Jewish children as they wait to immigrate to Israel. The organization also provides educational, cultural, and vocational assistance and meals to Ethiopian Jews who have reached Israel. NACOEJ reports that it works to inform the American community about the current status of Ethiopian Jews in Ethiopia and Israel and introduce Americans to the cultural heritage of Ethiopian Jews. In 2019, the organization reports that it sponsored 870 Ethiopian-Israeli high school students and 344 Ethiopian-Israeli college students.
