Salvadoran American Humanitarian Foundation (SAHF) reports that it provides humanitarian aid to poor and underserved individuals in El Salvador through the provision of medicines, medical supplies, medical equipment, food, clothing, and educational materials. The organization states that donations in-country are distributed free of charge to hospitals, clinics, orphanages, nursing homes, and other organizations by its in-country sister organization, FUSAL. SAHF provides assistance to early childhood development programs, which aim to bring health and nutrition to children under the age of five who live in rural El Salvador. The organization also supports a bilingual program that teaches English as a second language to at-risk children from kindergarten to high school. In 2020, SAHF reports that it shipped 52 containers to El Salvador that included 2,737,152 meals, 77,161 pieces of medical equipment, 6,523 hygiene products, 2,757 bags of food, and 456 mattresses. In addition, the organization states that it had 451 mothers and 7,631 children in its early childhood development program and 1,060 children in its bilingual program.
