Elephant Sanctuary of Tennessee (EST) provides captive elephants with individualized care, the companionship of a herd, and the opportunity to live out their lives in a safe haven dedicated to their well-being. The organization reports that individualized care has been enhanced by laser therapy, new digital radiography equipment, allergy testing and other diagnostic tests. EST also provides educational opportunities relating to elephant care and habitat, including materials and programs within the welcome center and online distance learning raising public awareness of the needs of elephants in captivity and the crisis facing elephants in the wild.
