Pratichi Shah is an HR strategist and thought leader with
twenty-five years experience in talent and HR in the nonprofit and
for-profit sectors. She is the founder of Flourish Talent Management
Solutions (FTMS), a firm focused on increasing impact in nonprofits
and philanthropies through talent strategy; culture alignment;
equity and inclusion; training and organizational development; and
leadership coaching.
Prior to launching FTMS, Pratichi was the Chief Talent Officer (CTO)
for Independent Sector, Global Director of the Employer of Choice
function for Willis Towers Watson and worked in Organizational
Effectiveness at the George Washington University and Hospital.
Pratichi often speaks about talent strategy to national audiences,
has written for the Chronicle of Philanthropy and Stanford Social
Innovation Review, and has been quoted in the New York Times annual
“Giving” section. She serves on the Boards of the League of American
Orchestras and BBB Wise Giving Alliance, and on Advisory Councils
for Equity in the Center and Fund the People. She holds an MBA from
American University, a BA from Eckerd College, and an executive
coaching certification from the Newfield Network.

Burkhard Wilke (59) holds a degree in macroeconomics. He is also
educated as a journalist. Since the year 2000, Burkhard serves as
Executive Director of the German Central Institute for social Issues
(DZI) in Berlin. DZI, founded in 1893, is well known as the
independent monitoring body for charities in Germany, awarding the
DZI seal-of-approval. DZI also operates the largest German library
and literature database for social work. Burkhard Wilke also
represents DZI on the international level. For many years he served
as board member of Charity Monitoring Worldwide (formerly known as
International Committee on Fundraising Organizations) - the
worldwide association of independent charity monitoring bodies.
Javier Garcia Gutierrez holds an undergraduate and graduate degree
in Business Administration, with focus in civil society and
honorable mention, from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is the
Executive Director of Confio (Construyendo Organizaciones Civiles
Transparentes), specializing in charity governance, transparency,
financial reporting, and civil engagement in Mexico. For 20 years,
Javier has focused on projects that strengthen civil society
organizations in his country. Javier Garcia is also an author and
contributor and has presented in Mexican and international
conferences. He is Secretary of the Charity Monitoring Worldwide
Board of Directors, a network of charity monitoring organizations
based in the Netherlands.
Since September 2020, he has served as the W.K. Kellogg Community
Philanthropy Chair, of the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for
Philanthropy, Grand Valley State University, Michigan. He is
currently leading major, collaborative research projects that
examine collective giving in the United States and the connection
between community foundations and family philanthropy in Mexico. He
began his career as the founding director of New Kensington
Community Development Corporation, in the Philadelphia neighborhood
where he was born and raised. After earning his M.A. and Ph. D. in
political science from Duke University and teaching at Wesleyan and
Yale Universities, for 14 years he was a professor at the Instituto
Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), where he founded the Project
on Philanthropy and Civil Society. In addition to his numerous
publications in English and Spanish, he has collaborated with a wide
range of philanthropic and governmental institutions, including:
Alternativas y Capacidades AC, Inter-American Foundation and
MacArthur Foundation.

Ana Benavides, CEO of Fundación Lealtad and president of Charity
Monitoring Worldwide After over 20 years providing financial advice
mainly in Banco Santander, in 2017, she held the position of CEO and
Secretary of the board of trustees of Fundación Lealtad. Since 2020,
she has been the Chairwoman of Charity Monitoring Worldwide
(previously named ICFO), the international association of NGO
evaluators. She is member of the board of Confío-Construyendo
Organizaciones Civiles Transparentes Mexico. She studied European
Business Studies at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICADE-E4 and
the E.S.C. Reims. She also holds a degree in Geography and History
from the UNED. She speaks Spanish, English, French, Italian and
Portuguese.
Jon Bergdoll is the Associate Director of Data Partnerships at the
Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University, where he
has worked for the past 8 years. He is the lead analyst on Giving
USA, the Equitable Giving Lab, the Global Philanthropy Tracker, and
several other projects. He lives with his wife & 9-year old son
outside of Indianapolis.

Jane Wales is Vice President of the Aspen Institute and Executive
Director of its Program on Philanthropy and Social Innovation. She
is the founder of the Global Philanthropy Forum and its regional
affiliates in Africa and Brazil, and the former host of the
nationally syndicated National Public Radio interview show
WorldAffairs. Previously, Jane served in the Clinton Administration
as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director of the
National Security Council. She simultaneously served as Associate
Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
In the Carter Administration, Jane served as Deputy Assistant
Secretary of State.
In the philanthropic sector, Jane chaired international security
programs at the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the W. Alton
Jones Foundation, and she directed the Project on World Security at
the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. From 2007 to 2008, she served as
acting CEO of The Elders. Jane is Chair of the Board of FSG and a
member of the board of directors for the Center for a New American
Security, OpenCorporates, and IDInsight. She is Co-Chair of the
Generosity Commission.
Paige Rice is an experienced researcher who has worked extensively
in brand, message, and audience research. She has advised a variety
of nonprofit, issue advocacy, labor union, and corporate clients on
communicating about issues ranging from social justice to corporate
social responsibility to community outreach. Prior to working at
Hattaway Communications, she worked on public affairs research at
SKDK. She received a master’s degree in international development
from the University of Amsterdam and a bachelor’s degree in feminist
studies and global and international studies from the University of
California, Santa Barbara.

Asha Curran is CEO of GivingTuesday. She serves as Chair of the
Board of Guardian.org and as Advisory Committee Co-Chair for the
Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at the 92nd Street Y,
where she was formerly Chief Innovation Officer. She is a Fellow
at Stanford University’s Center for Philanthropy and Civil
Society, a Marla and Barry Beck Visiting Social Innovator at the
Social Innovation and Change Initiative at the Harvard Kennedy
School, and a Fellow at the Saïd Business School at the University

Dr. Jean Accius is an accomplished leader and innovator in health
equity, longevity, health systems transformation, and building
equitable systems so that every person in every community can live a
longer, healthier, and more productive life.
As President & CEO of CHC: Creating Healthier Communities, Jean
leads a high-performing team that is dedicated to breaking down the
barriers to health and empowering communities to thrive. With
business acumen and deep experience across sectors, Dr. Accius
understands how to develop creative and actionable solutions,
policies, and programs that uncover the economic advantages of
addressing disparities. He has a proven track record of
collaborating across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors to
accelerate the pace of change.
Prior to CHC, Dr. Accius was a member of the policy team for the
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and spent more than 15
years at AARP, the nation’s largest nonprofit, most recently serving
as Senior Vice President of International Affairs and Global Thought
Leadership. At AARP, Jean led his team in creating a business case
for age diversity in the workforce and conducting seminal research
on the contributions of the aging population to the global economy.
Dr. Accius has been widely recognized for his transformational
leadership—from Next Avenue’s Influencer in Aging Award (2020) to
Black Enterprise magazine’s Modern Man of Distinction (2018) to
Florida State University’s Distinguished Black Alumni of the Year
(2021). He has also been a member of the Fast Company Impact Council
since 2021.
He is a sought-after author and speaker, and is regularly featured
in outlets, including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, Forbes,
TIME Magazine and Politico. He has facilitated sessions at the World
Economic Forum in Davos and has engaged hundreds of leaders across
industries and sectors at the United Nations. Under his leadership,
his previous team’s signature program, Growing with Age, was
recognized as part of the Fast Company World Changing Ideas program.
Dr. Accius has long been passionate about equity and improving the
world around him—he was raised from infancy to age four by his
grandmother in Haiti. Her hard work and dedication has inspired his
career path to this day.
Dr. Accius is a certified director with the National Association of
Corporate Directors, a fellow with the Executive Leadership Council,
a graduate of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Program
on Health Reform, and Stanford University’s Graduate School of
Business Corporate Innovation Program. He holds a bachelor’s and
master’s degree from Florida State University and a Ph.D. from
American University School of Public Affairs.
Julia Ritz Toffoli is a Principal Behavioral Designer ideas42 on the
Giving Team, where she helps lead research and design in the
philanthropic space, supporting partners to design, test, and
implement behavioral innovations that make giving more intentional,
strategic, and equitable.
Prior to joining ideas42, Julia spent nine years at the Open Society
Foundations, where she helped to launch and build the Strategy Unit,
delivering strategic planning guidance to grant making programs.
While at OSF, Julia spearheaded the development of a training
curriculum that integrated behavioral insights into strategic
decision-making practice.
Julia holds a Master of International Affairs in Human Rights
Advocacy from Columbia University's School of International and
Public Affairs and a BA in Political Science and Sociology from
McGill University.
Barbara has thirty years of annual fund, major gifts, and campaign
fundraising experience at major non-profit organizations including
Harvard University, the National Trust for Historic Preservation,
Oxford University in England, and the American Red Cross.
She is founder and principal of Windmill Hill Consulting, based in
the Metro DC area.
She serves as past president of the Association of Fundraising
Professionals (AFP) Washington DC Metro Chapter and as a former
member of the Advisory Panel for Rogare, The Fundraising Think Tank
in the U.K. She sits on the board of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance
and chairs the Research Committee for the Giving USA Foundation. In
2020, she joined the faculty at the University of Maryland’s Do Good
Institute teaching nonprofit fundraising.

Margaret joined GoFundMe in May 2022 to lead a newly established
corporate affairs team responsible for government relations,
public policy, and corporate communications. Previously, Margaret
led Trust and Safety teams at Apple and Airbnb responsible for
preventing, detecting, and responding to fraud and abuse and led
Airbnb’s Global Policy team as it scaled globally. Prior to
Airbnb, Margaret served as Chief of Staff and Counselor to
Attorney General Eric Holder, Jr. in the U.S. Department of
Justice, where she refined her creative problem solving and
consensus-building skills. Prior to joining the U.S. Department of
Justice, Margaret developed an innovative legal services program
that advocated for more equitable criminal justice representation
approaches. She holds a BA from the University of Virginia, a JD
from U.C. Berkeley Law School and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy
School.
Sara Lomelin is a connector of people and ideas, a relationship
builder and a firm believer that everyone can be a philanthropist. A
self-proclaimed philanthropy disruptor, Sara has traveled the world
speaking about the power of collective giving at high-profile
conferences and events, including TED 2022 where she delivered her
talk, "Your Invitation to Disrupt Philanthropy." As founding CEO of
Philanthropy Together, Sara is growing a movement of people-powered
philanthropy to resource grassroots nonprofits, shift power dynamics
and promote widespread philanthropy. In 2023, Sara was named to
Forbes’ 50 Over 50: Impact List.
Prior to Philanthropy Together, Sara served as Senior Director of
Leadership Philanthropy at Accion Opportunity Fund, and as VP of
Philanthropy at the Latino Community Foundation where she created
the Latino Giving Circle Network™—the largest network of Latinx
philanthropists in the US. Sara serves on the National Council of
the Women’s Philanthropy Institute at the Lilly Family School of

Darryl L. Griffin serves as the Associate Executive Vice President,
Development Strategy & Effectiveness for the American Heart Association.
In his role, he works alongside his Field Integration team to design scalable
fundraising solutions, establish vision, strategic focus, priorities, &
performance accountabilities for Community Issue Campaigns aka Issue
Based Fundraising, designed to drive equitable health impact in the
communities the AHA serves.
Darryl’s professional experiences include over 25 years of work within the
non-profit arena, serving in the positions of Program Director, Major Gift
Officer, Executive Director, Area Vice President, National Director, and Chief
Advancement Officer, in addition to his current role. Darryl has served at
various prominent institutions and organizations to include: the American
Diabetes Association, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Meharry Medical
College, Fisk University, YMCA of the USA, and the Dallas Zoo.
Darryl is a native of Chicago, IL, and graduated from Mt. Carmel High School.
Darry attended Vanderbilt University, where he was a Varsity Letterman on
the football team and one of the founding members of the Vanderbilt Voices

As a thought leader, public speaker, inventor and award-winning
author, Nathan is one of the world's foremost experts on the
intersection between Artificial Intelligence and philanthropy.
Nathan serves as Senior Vice President of DonorSearch AI, where he
leads the AI deployments for many of the nation’s largest
nonprofit organizations. Nathan founded Fundraising.AI as a global
collaboration with a focus on data ethics, data equality, privacy,
and security. He is co-author of the award-winning book, The
Generosity Crisis: The Case for Radical Connection to Solve
Humanity’s Greatest Challenges.
In 2015, Elz began her career in philanthropy as Deputy Director
at North Star Fund, a community foundation that supports
grassroots organizing led by communities of color in New York City
and the Hudson Valley.
Elz has been a fundraiser for over 20 years, holding development
and communications positions at Harlem RBI, Youth Speaks, Women’s
Project and Hip-Hop Theater Festival. Prior to working in the
nonprofit sector, Elz spent a decade in news radio, where she
witnessed the transformational power of storytelling.
Born to immigrant Filipino parents in the San Francisco Bay Area,
Elz earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications at
University of California, Berkeley. She currently serves as Vice
Chair on the board of Advocacy Institute.
She is an MFA candidate in the Creative Nonfiction program at
Hunter College and lives with her unbelievably cute son in
Washington Heights, Manhattan.
